Hey everyone! its a nice day to update this site actually ~~okay let's start. last update is about i've visiting kak shikin, the macrame makers and we go out to buy the rope because she said there's no more material to show me the process of making macrame.
Should be on 13 oct friday i've to go to kak shikin house but there's something misunderstanding with me and kak shikin on that date so we're moving the date on 20 oct, friday. Im going there to petaling jaya with my sister because she also on mid term break thats mean she has nothing to do at home! so why not she going with me to petaling jaya and being my photographer :P
I've to be there on 10 a.m, but my sister ruin my plan *blergh* we arrived at petaling jaya at 1 p.m . Im very sorry to kak shikin for being late...because she has another meeting at 5pm .
Kak shikin started to teach me the process, she's tell me the knots that are using in macrame like reverse larshead knot, half knot, square knot, half hitch, diagonal half hitch and so on. she's very cool while teach me doing the technique because im a little bit slow doing the macrame.

There is a few knot that kak shikin has teach me -

After that she's using a 'gelung rotan' as a hoop for doing macrame on it. First we have to total up the length of rope that we want to do for macrame. Then cut the rope as much as the size of the width of the macrame. We get a lot of questions about the length of rope needed to make a macramé piece. You will need between 3 x and 5 x the length is needed, depending on the density of knots in your piece.Long cord lengths are hard to deal with so it is rare to see very long macramé wall hangings with lots of knotting. Most people do a half metre or so of knots then leave the rest as fringe when they are making curtains or room dividers.

Next is making The Reverse Larkshead Knot, The knots a popular choice for attaching your macrame cords to the dowel, rod or ring at the top of the project for starting on the hoop, kak shikin said its too challenging because we are not using the straight hoop. XD

Then, the next technique is the alternate square knots, so the macrame will be in a square shape but the position like diamond. You can see the picture below.

After that, we're going to framing the alternate square knots, by using the diagonal half hitch knot. Then we have to stop at 4.15p.m because kak shikin has another meeting. This is what we got from 1pm until 4 pm.

Im going to continue doing this macrame on next friday, 27 oct. I'll update next post next week! keep in touch guys. Thanks for visit my site ;)
